I bet Wendy was a real Hoot!
The neatest older person I ever met was Harry Bice, a psycholgist who
specilized in testing CP children. I worked with Harry for one year at the A
Harry Moore school in NJ. We went to the Matheny school once and that is where I
met Mike Collis(we think).
I was 27 and Dr. Bice was 75 and I had read all of his work. He worked with all
the big names in CP(Phelps, Cruickshank, Carruthers, Pearlstein, etc. He had
tested over 5,000 CP's at that time. I remember Harry looked like Heidi's
grandfather from the movie and if a child was nervous, he would have them climb
on his lap and he would test them that way. (Sad, today that would get Harry
accused of pedophilia!) He taught me a lot about how to test. Mainly, he was a
great friend whom I adored. Not any Bice's today and that is sad.
