Jo, Anju,
The assumption I now make with meat is that if the animal lived a life
of
disease and unhappiness, then the disease is reflected in my immediate
physiological response to eating its toxic flesh.
How could I make such a statement?
I eat meat regularly (once a day on average), but only on 3 occasions
over
the past several months (eating at relatives) have I eaten
'conventional'
meat. On each of those 3 occasions, my body responded with a headache
and
mild joint pain. (I get along fine with my relatives and these meals
were
during were stress-free holidays, so I'm quite sure it was not a
body-over-mind or stress-related reaction).
On the countless occasions during this time that I've eaten
'naturally'
raised meats I've never had a symptomatic flareup after the meal. This
is
true for me even if the meat is thoroughly cooked which I do with
chicken.
Maybe this suggests that these animals (some from large commercial
sources
such as Colemans or Bell and Evans that one could be suspicious about)
do
live at least somewhat healthfully and happily? At least I like to
think so.
My response to the increased animal protein (balanced with healthy raw
plant
food) over months as far as gaining strength and vitality and feeling
less
diseased overall suggests this also. Probably these animals were
happier and
healthier than I am; they certainly didn't have to deal with the
after-effects of years of eating candy, soda pop and junk food, or
metal
poisoning from toxics inserted into their teeth.
