We have a HP 5200C working with Windows ME - no problems with installation
or operation. You should have a one-year warranty on the scanner. The call
to Gateway is toll free and the lifetime tech support is free also. The call
to HP is a toll charge, but the tech support is free. I've never had an HP
problem that they couldn't fix. Be persistent with HP and Gateway - they
have your money and are under obligation to make things work.
