Western Digital has been ok, and I've had lousy luck with Quantum's fireball
series. I too have been a Seagate fan. Any trouble, I always have received
a replacement drive - no hassle, no questions, and usually a larger drive
exchanged in return.
Although at my University, it seems if you have a "hard drive plague" they
tend to be in batches. Had a whole series of Seagate 2 gig drives go bad
once, but that seemed to be more an anomally.

Of all the components that I replace for people, Western Digital
hard
drives seem to be what I replace most often. I thought they made good hard
drives, but now I'm starting to wonder. I have probably installed 150 WD
hard drives in the past three years, and have replaced about a dozen (not
all of them were ones that I installed)
Has anyone had better luck with another brand?
