I'm trying to see, from www.foodtv.com, if the show repeats... but I was
just watching "Tasting Mexico" and the first 10 minutes or so they were
taking a tour of some places in Mexico City. One of them... "Chon
Restaurante... [somthing] prehistorica" or some such, does pre-Columbian
cooking--15th century recipes. They showed 4 different insect recipes--one
was some kind of ant dish that looked like rice, one was fly dumplings, one
was beatles cooked with chilis, and one looked like roasted meal worms.

Anyway... yes, here it is (it's a "special"): Saturday, May 05 04:00 PM ET
Tasting Mexico: http://www.foodtv.com/tvshows/specialsindex/0,2247,,00.html

I don't know yet about the rest of the show, but the market looked
wonderful (did you know they eat corn fungus?) and that restaurant I
mentioned ... if anyone goes to Mexico City, see if you can find that
place--it looks fascinating, on general principles.

Dianne
