True, but any type of aerobic/anaerobic exertion has a lowering effect upon
the insulin rising. The body is not static when it comes to metabolism but
in a continual state of flux

Subject: Pre-workout meal's

Ever walk into a gym and see all the musclehead's line up at the counter
buying the same pre-workout drink," Hey buddy, let me have one of those
performance drink's, yeah the one with 50 gram's of simple sugar's ,yeah
that's the one".They go on to think that there off to train with a powerful
pre-workout drink. It must be good cause everyone is drinking them(I guess
we need to thank the muscle mag's for their wonderful influence here). The
truth is that what you drink and eat prior to a workout has a strong
influence on how much fat you burn. That sugar drink is going to do one
thing and one thing only;spike your insulin level's,which will immediately
turn on lipogenic hormones, which means fat storing. There are three thing's
which determine the carb to bloo
dsugar influence.(1)a person being insulin
resistant(2)the amount of carb's consumed and the (3)glycemic index of that
carb. When carb's are consumed prior to a workout the inhibitory effect on
fat burning is directly related with how much sugar is in the
bloodstream. Here's another kicker the anti -lipolytic effect of high
insulin level's due to carb consumption prior to a workout block's GH
release,so not only are you not going to burn bodyfat ,but the hypertrophy
effect's you were hoping to produce along with strength gain's ,just went
out the window.
So what's a good pre-workout meal? I like working out early in the am on an
empty stomach, but if you must eat prior to your workout ,consume
protein.Pre-workout protein will supply amino acid's that might otherwise
be extracted from the muscle's,offsetting any possible catabolic effect
from the workout.
