Another suggestion. If the original poster uses an AMD K6 or
Cyrix CPU, he should go to http://www.stud.uni-hannover.de/~goetz
and get cpuidle.
It will significantly reduce the heat and power consumption of
your cpu by allowing it to idle in Windows 95 or 98. This will
allow your Win96/98 to act like Linux in this respect.
