You need to enable com 3 in the bios...if it doesn't show up there...you
need to enable it on your motherboard....depending on how old this
computer is it should already be enabled on your motherboard...just
check the bios to make sure that com 3 is enabled...then it should
work...

Dear List!

I just added a USR WIN Modem to my PC.  It appears that the   OS  has
grabbed Com's 1 & 2  for what I haven't been able to figure out yet.
When I
setup the modem it positioned itself on Com 3 which I don't have or is
not
visible in the device mgr.

I haven't been able to find any help from the Help section of my "new"
OS
WIN XP Home (full edition)


Can anyone tell me how to setup an additional Com port?
