I just did a new install of Win 98 on a new hard drive a couple of weeks
ago, but did not get that message. When I first installed from this CD back
in 9/98 (it is an upgrade CD) over Win 95 I got that message and had a raft
of files in the version conflict utility because I chose to save it. Once I
was sure Win 98 worked I just deleted the back up files. This time it was a
clean install, and I did not see the message, that's why I was asking.
Subject: Re: [PCBUILD] New OS Installation
The message appears with a new installation, not just when an upgrade is
installed "over the top".
