I'll start my lines with (rg) in case stuff gets quoted back...

(rg) That may be the biggest clue...
(rg) Did you do a clean install after the new mother board?
(rg) Burning requires a real clean system, with little or no problems.

(rg) Your system is plenty fast. It should be able to do it,
(rg) at least off the Hard Drive...
(rg) Making AudioCD copies with digital extraction on the fly is another story
(rg) and different limits of the source drive "kick-in"
(rg) Some media (cd-disks) are locked to a certain speed. This is written
(rg) in the ATIP section of the cd-blank...
(rg) CD-RW disks (for what I have seen personally) are always locked,
(rg) and locked much lower than CD-Rs of the same vintage...
(rg) This "could be" just the way I bought them, so you need to check yours.
(rg) http://www.gum.de/cdrid/ has a free program.
(rg) Note that HP recorders use special commands sometimes, and this program
(rg) has been know to NOT work with their drives (and others.)
(rg) The program also tells the manufacturer of the disk and the "class" of dye
(rg) used. (The nomenclature is weird though... "long" means 5-50 years
(rg) or so, and "short" means up to about 100 years... The words have to do with
(rg) the pits instead of the life...)
(rg) CD-RW has its own type, and are thought by some people to be very
(rg) unstable after as little as six months... (I have had no trouble.)

(rg) Another things to try... Get real good media... Not a bundle of 100 for $16...
(rg) See if 74 min disks work. (The track is not as tight.)
(rg) Try burning in DAO mode (disk at once)... This almost completely bypasses
(rg) the program management area on the CD-Disk, and allows burning on
(rg) disks that have "problems" of their own... They still may not work right, but
(rg) the burner and program will like them better, and at least finish...
(rg) Good luck. Hope this helped.
(rg) Burning is like an "art", not a science... Rick Glazier
