Bridget,
It sounds like you are doing the right thing by eating a
paleo diet and taking fish oil capsules (for months).

There is no "survival value" in having morning sickness. What possible
benefit for mother and baby could be had by mom vomiting up her food or
being unable to eat at a time when her nutritional needs are greater than
normal?

It is a myth that "morning sickness is usually a good sign." Just because
it is normal doesn't mean it is healthy or desirable. Many signs of illness
are passed of as normal (meaning average or common) solely for the fact that
so many people are plagued by such ailments. When you average figures for
the typical American population, averaging the unhealthy folks with the
healthy ones, you get marred statistics and a skewed view of what is healthy
or natural (usally called normal, which means "the norm" or "average," the
latter being a mixture of the high and low.

Keep eating nourishing foods made by Mother and Father Nature (meats, eggs,
vegetables, fruits, nuts, herbs) and avoiding those made by Modern Man and
Commerce and you will do wonders for your unborn baby. You might want to
check out the Price Pottenger Nutrition Foundation and The Weston A Price
Foundation to find more support for a super nutritious diet. There are some
great resources available for info on the benefits of long term
breastfeeding as well. These two organizations can get you started.
