Ken,

Things went extremely well. Here is an excerpt of an email she sent to our
bible study group upon her return from Houston:

"This chemo stuff is getting a bit rougher, it seems, with each round.
That said, I have received some quite awesome news from my Dr. in Houston a
little while ago. Bottom line is there is no evidence of leukemia/lymphoma
in my bone marrow or blood!! This has happened in less that 10% of the
participants in this trial.
I am still encouraged to finish out the clinical trial which means 2 more
rounds (just finished round 4 this morning).
I will return to Houston after school is out to finalize the results with
another BMB, and an incredibly precise test (PCR) that will measure down to
1 of 100,000 cells. If the PCR test is negative, it would be the closest
thing to a cure according to my Dr. I am a bit skeptical of the word cure at
this point, but a long long remission would be incredible in itself."

The chemotherapy is really tearing her up, but if it means years/decades to
her lifespan I'd venture to say she thinks it's worth the cost.

Thanks for asking!

-Kyle
