The previous anecdote is the first indication that I was responding visually for my parents and I wish I could have worked Arthur but alas I heard him one night on cw but could not get him.

Yeah?  Guess you had to wait for the Cookie MOnster on Sesame Street!

Ah well; it was a great revelation for me when I discovered that Lowell
Thomas, Edward R. Murrow, Sam Hayes, Walter Winchell et all didn't work
out of the local stations in Portland.
