Well, I just upgraded from 256 to 512 and was getting out-of-memory errors after
the upgrade and setting the MaxFileCache in the vcache section of the system.ini
file did not solve the problem. I had to reformat and reinstall after America
Online literally screwed up all the ports on my PC somehow or another. Ever
since I reformatted I have not been getting out of memory errors. I was hoping
that perhaps Windows might not necessarily like it that much when you add memory
and something went right. Now I know better than to say this because in about
15 minutes I will get an out of memory error. I thought this reinstall might
have fixed my incessant winsock problems and after uploading 20 megabytes I
thought it was fixed and posted my message of adulation to a newsgroup.
Literally 5 minutes later I got the same old winsock error. :-(
