Greetings All,
I have been having difficulties trying to install a network card under Red
Hat 7.0.
During install of OS, I had a rather old IBM EtherJet ISA NIC installed,
which went
unrecognized. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling it to no avail.
Figuring it had something to do with the age of the card and it being
unsupported, I purchased a Netgear FA311 PCI card and installed it, only to
have it go unrecognized also. I have tried installing it to different slots
with no success. I chose the Netgear card because they seem well supported
under Red Hat, based on the list at redhat.com. I have been able to install
other PCI devices successfully on this machine/build. If anyone has any
suggestions, or can point me to some useful sources of information, I would
be greatly appreciative.
Hardware details:
FIC VA-503a mainboard
Pentium 200 MMX processor
128 MB RAM
Western Digital 4 GB HDD, with only Red Hat 7.0 installed
Thanks in advance,
George
