Was thinking Nixon, actually...thus the Dick. Revisionism and Tudor-Tales
aside, winners are apt to put their grubby motives in good light and
demonize the losers.
It took Shakespeare to immortalize the gimp as embodying evil. Personally
Richard's opening self-description of frustrated lust for sex and power and
gloating self loathing pretty much desribes my current mood. LoL
Will the true Richard (and Steve) please stand up.
I agree with your Beatrice citation, the film version excellent. We owe
much to KB and Emma.
