As this question has been answered many times, I just want to give a bit
info based on my exp.
Depending on what OS you use, and what task you want the computer perform,
256M of RAM may or may not make difference.
If all you want to do is single task (mainly running one program at a time),
and use win9x/Me, you won't see much difference between 128M and 256M.
Adding more RAM will show it's advantage if you run win2k, NT, Linux, and or
mainly running multi-task, or use memory hunger program (eg. photo/video
edit, 3D Max).
At home, I use win2k, with only 128M of RAM is slowwww, after I added one
more 128M RAM, things are much faster.
Many people believe that 2x128M is faster than 1x256M, but I didn't see any
difference.
