Len, I would guess the AWDFLASH utility is usable for AWard mobo's.
The difference may be in the /command switches your mobo allows.

Can't answer particularly, but you should get an error message if it cannnot
load your bios.bin pgm.  Afterall, it will be the bios.bin that will affect
any operation change.  Your concern is that it gets loaded or not.  That
should result in an error message if it tries something that your mobo
doesn't allow.
