If all the other suggestions fail, it COULD be a defective floppy drive. I
installed a floppy drive I got for $5.00 online and it would not boot for
me. Floppies written on this drive could not be read on other drives. Plus
if I tried to copy files from a disk created on a good drive, I could not
copy all the files. I replaced the drive with a TEAC from Best Buy and it
worked. Again, I'd only suggest this as the problem if other suggestions
give you no results. The drive may not be reading all the floppy disk, and
therefore is not reading files which designate the disk as a boot disk.
