Bananas are too sweet, and generally too big (they've been bred that way). I
also eat little fruit -- mainly meat, eggs, soup, some veg. Sometimes some
small dried figs. I think fruit is overrated as a healthy food, and its not
paleo. All modern fruit has been selectively bred to be sweet, large and eye
appealing. If you look for wild fruit, all you will find are a few small,
tart berries.
For energy, try eating no food at all, i.e., fasting. You will find this
gives you much more energy. It is commonly done by native peoples for this
reason, for instance before going on a hunting or fighting expedition. Try a
five day fast. Eat a little carbo in the morning (a little fruit). After the
first 48 hours, you will lose the usual hunger pangs, and begin to feel
lighter and much more energetic.
What everybody seems to forget is that digesting food, particularly difficult
to digest food like carbohydrate, consumes a lot of energy. This is why you
feel unenergetic after consuming a lot of carbo.
