Yes, there are many who believe that this is the one to watch.
In my case, paleo made this ratio much worse.  While I achieved a
moderate increase in HDL, I also got a massive increase in LDL,
thereby raising TC.  That increase has dropped somewhat in three
years of this way of eating, but remains quite elevated.  The
only thing I have found that drops my LDL sharply without also
causing HDL to fall is soy protein, which I am reluctant to eat
for other reasons.
