Howdy,
Congratulations on your new adventure in high-speed surfing! I found the
easiest way for me to set my machine for DSL was to go to www.dslreports.com
and get Dr.TCP, http://www.dslreports.com/front/drtcp.html It is an easy to
adjust your registry without actually having to go into it. I have max MTU
at 1500, RWIN at 32767. I most always show as being at 1232kbps on their
speed tests.
This is a good site for testing, tweaking, and general info for DSL.

I now have an ADSL connection. I would have though that MaxMTU, MSS, RWIN,
and TTL should be left at the same settings for a dial-up connection (576,
etc.), since at least the ones I understand should depend on the
capabilities
of the whole internet, not just my ISP's network. However, someone on the
net
advised much higher settings. Please advise.

The NOSPIN Group Promotions is now offering
Mandrake Linux or Red Hat Linux CD sets along
with our NOSPIN Power Linux CD... at a great price!!!
