The Plextor is a good pick.
Just for information, there are several other brands of 12x10x32 burnproof,
remarked  plextor/sanyo drives around.  Sanyo invented "burnproof"
technology.

I have the Iomega 12x10x32 and a TDK VeloCD 12x10x32 which seem to be the
same drive,
with different faceplates.
 I'm burning a re-writable as I type this email at 10x ; you do have to have
high speed re-writable media to write at 10x. I'm running several apps in
the background ....... it doesn't seem to matter
with the "burnproof" feature.
 The Iomega and the TDK at least can be flashed with Plextor firmware.(at
your own risk)
I just flashed my TDK to 1.07.
 This TDK will do DAE (Digital audio extraction) at 32x which is nice for
ripping those CDs to MP3
 The Iomega 12x10x32 CD-RW sold recently at Compusa for $99 after $30
rebate, and many were
re-sold on Ebay for around $150-$200.
The Plextor brand probably will continue to have the best support and
firmware upgrades however.
