Thanks for all those who helped me with my crash and m/b not reading hard
drives, as I had said in last post a local tech tested drives and said the
test board read both of them and said I had m/b. I called Gateway tech
support,told him and in five minutes they had me going, I did have a bad
h.d, he had me reset the jumper on m/b to release NVRAM and then reboot and
set it back, whamo it booted right up, I never would have thought memory
sitting in m/b would cause a read problem.
I can only say that the support I got , on a computer I bought in 1995, was
excellent. In all the calls I have made to them in the last 5 yrs I have
never had any thing but good service, It is nice to know that they do still
help out on a machine this old.
