MY MULTIFACETED LIFE
By Karen Perlow
Convulsions at birth..
The doctor said we don't know
whether she'll see or hear, or what she'll be
Capable of.
You'll just have to
Wait & See...
Walking by the age of 2..
Walking casts at the age of 5,
Just home from the hospital,
Pulling siblings in a wagon
While wearing those casts..
Thirteen years of regular school,
Moved alot before age 11,
Adjusted to changes well,but
Asked herself the question,
"I don't see anything wrong with
the way I walk, Why do They ?"
Finished Bachelor degree early.
Married before graduation.
Opted not to drive,
But found ways to & from work.
Wanted children despite
Family's unspoken worry.
God put a smiling spin on life.
She was the only one to become
a parent the conventional way
.....Three Times! :)
Beautiful children,
Each with gifts
And challenges.
Almost Gifted, Asperger's &
Autism.
Society shouldn't judge them
by a word on a report.
This in addition to spouse's
Depression describe her
Version of "Normal".
Everyone's is different.
It's said God only gives you
What He thinks you can handle.
How that Doctor might marvel
At what she's capable of
43 years later.
Still discovering new
Capabilities every day.
