Doesn't sound like a hardware problem. Try removing and re-installing the
program. If that doesn't work, you may need to run the SR-1 patch for office
from the Microsoft site. Note: if you have a burned CD, there is also a
possibility that it is not reading correctly in your drive or the CD is
corrupted.

If it is hardware: take a note if other applications are crashing as well.
If you are getting blue screens, mark down the memory addresses. If you find
that the memory addresses are usually the same and from different
applications, you may have a RAM problem. If you get blue screens from a
specific app or filename, then the software may be corrupted. Plus, double
check to make sure the settings are correct for your CPU. Make sure it's not
over clocked.

Subject: [PCBUILD] hardware problem??

Hi
I am not sure if this is a hardware problem or not. I installed Microsoft
Office 2000 onto my computer but what is happening is that as soon as I open
a program from microsoft office, it runs for about three seconds and then
closes itself up. I am not sure if this is a problem with my hardware or it
is something to do with the software.
I have and AMD K-6 500,128MB RAM,running windows 98 2nd edition. Does anyone
have an idea what could be causing this?
Thanks in advance for your advice.
Mwelwa
