Did anyone see the political flag displayed on one of the Antique Road Shows
from Salt Lake City? It was not an appraised item, but you catch a glimpse
of it at the end. It was a bright yellow, with the depiction of Henry Clay
presumably, and the names Clay, Frelinghuysen, Houston and Stockton. I was
curious if there was a New Jersey connection.

My brief research at "politicalgraveyard.com" (great site) led me to Henry
Clay and Theodore Frelinghuysen as Whig candidates for President and
Vice-President in 1844. The Houston and Stockton references may be to a John
Wallace Houston, Secretary of State, Delaware 1845-51 and a Thomas Stockton
(cousin to John), Governor of Delaware from 1845-46. I wonder how much the
flag was appraised at?
