Long time since I used an Oki.  I assume you mean the paper is
fanfolding in front of the tractor, when you say 'bunch up'.
If you have the tractor on pull, the traction setting for the roller
must be off.  Paper not in the tractor, like 8.5 x 11, should slide
easily under the impact roller.  The typical problem is that the roller
turns at a different speed than the tractor. This means only a minute
difference in vertical spacing under normal circumstances, but if you
engage both paper advance functions, you get the symptom you describe.
If I remember, Oki is gear driven, like my Panasonics, when the gears
fail it is much more  catastrophic, things like uneven line spacing and
overstrike.

One of my customers uses a OKIDATA Microline 320 Dot Matrix Printer with
a
E Pull Tractor to print forms.
The tractor feed is operating  slowly causing the paper to bunch up. The
OKIDATA home page has information on the printer and tractor but not any
troubleshooting guides for this kind of problem. Is anyone familiar with
this sort of setup and are there any solutions other then replacement?
