Kevin:
I have run into a similar problems on several occasions. Take a look at
your Start-Up folders if your using Window 3.1 or 95. There may be programs
in their trying to connect for product upgrades via the internet. Do you
have a fax program that is set to answer incoming calls? The program may
block your port if you try to use you modem and its running too. The fax
program may be loaded in memory too. Not all programs that load into memory
show up in the start-up folder. I would also check any other programs that
use your modem to see if they are configured to use the same port when you
load the operating system (OS). (if the OS is Windows)
Good luck,
Dennis Stephens
