It "could" be the card, but not what I would suspect first. Check the pins
on the monitor cable. Use a small needle-nose pliers and grab each of the
pins and give them a little wiggle. PLEASE BE CAREFUL NOT TO USE TOO MUCH
FORCE!!!! You just want to see if they move around a little too loosely.
Also, check if one of them is a little depressed (not the emotional kind of
depressed, mind you). If you can, pull out (AGAIN, CAREFULLY!!!) any that
are depressed and very carefully plug the monitor back in. This might fix
it.
If you have loose pins it could be a loose connection with the cable that is
causing the problem. With the monitor plugged in, wiggle the entire cable
around by where it connects to the video card and up by the monitor itself.
Does this change anything? Does the color come back correctly, or does it
flicker or do anything else different? This would indicate a bad cable as
well.
If all these fail, it might be the video card, which you can only really
test by replacing the video card, or it could be something inside the
monitor itself. Try my suggestions and let us know what you discover.

Kyle Elmblade

Subject: [PCBUILD] Packard Bell moniter color?
> I have a Packard Bell monitor model #1024S, 50-60Hz,100-240volt,1.5amp.
> It is attached to a Packard Bell model r515 tower. The color keeps
changing on the monitor to a transparent yellow/green color. Everything is
visible except that it has the yellowish green tint to it. This has been
happening off and on for the last week. Would this be an indication of a
video card going bad?
