Hello,
I have a PIII 750, with 128MB ram, running on an MSI 6163 Mobo (The
BXMaster), with a 32 TNT Pro video card.
The computer has an older Sony DVD player and Mpeg2 card and a HP8100 CD-RW.
It runns Win 98SE on the 6 GB partition of a 20GB drive.
I bought the computer 2nd hand about three weeks ago, repartitioned from a
single ands added software - Office2k pro, PSP, the stuff that I use.
After running without a beat, since Monday night, I can't burn a CD
successfully and the computer is locking up for 20-30 seconds at a time when
I try to do seveal things at once, eg view web pages, ICQ, listen to music,
work in Word/ Excell.
I believe the culprit is heat - the internal temp was 38 degrees celcius
when I rebooted last night. Could this be so?
Any other Ideas? Shall I get a chassis fan and see if I can get the
temperature down or is there smething else I should do?
Cheers Nicki
