While I think it's any excellent idea for everyone to know first responder
skills, CPR. etc, just because, I don't think in many professions it should
be a requirement for employment. Reading the article  sent it doesn't sound
like Kari has made any progress in dealing with her disease herself and I
think it is foolish to expect a college to provide services to one who seems
bent on destruction ( even if it is a disease). If the college does choose
to readmit her then does it become their responsibility to make sure he
takes in a minimum # of calories/day. Can they require a g-tube to be placed
and that she must come to the health center for 3 tube feedings per day?
This also deals with the physical aspect of her disability but is it the
colleges responsibility? Accommodating disabilities is a two way street. If
you can't walk you use a chair and the university is responsible for keeping
the walks free and clear. If you can't see the college can provide you oral
notes/texts /tests etc but you still have to study to obtain the grade. ADA
means accommodation not a free ride.
