IPTW 2001 Call for Demonstrators and Presenters

The Preservation Trades Network is inviting all those engaged or
interested in the preservation crafts and trades to submit proposals for
being included on the program for the 5th annual International
Preservation Trades Workshop (IPTW 2001), which will be held at Gateway
National Recreation Area, Jamaica Bay Unit, Floyd Bennett Field,
Brooklyn, NY, October 26-28, 2001.

If you are interested in demonstrating a particular preservation-related
trade skill or craft technique, please send a description of the
demonstration and several photographs of yourself engaged in that work,
as well as photographs of the finished product. Please include a copy
of your resume.

If you would like to lead a round-table discussion on a topic, please
provide the name of the topic, a brief outline of the discussion points
and a copy of your resume. We are especially interested in having
roundtable discussions that address some aspect of the IPTW 2001 theme
“Partners in Preservation.”

If you would like to present a seminar on a topic, please provide the
name of the topic, a brief outline or abstract of the presentation, and
a copy of your resume. Preference will be given to seminars that
feature hands-on components or strong visuals, or that relate
specifically to the IPTW 2001 theme “Partners in Preservation.”

Proposals should be sent to PTN, at the address listed below, by June 1,
2001. Proposals (including photographs) cannot be returned.

More information about this year’s IPTW is available at www.ptn.org, or
by contacting the PTN Manager at Phone: (860) 633-2854 Fax: (860)
657-8241, through e-mail at [log in to unmask], or by writing to Preservation
Trades Network, Inc., 731 Hebron Ave., Glastonbury, CT 06033-2457.
