Hi Paleoeaters!
I'm a former vegetarian (14 years) so this is a big change for me.
I started eating fish again in college, when I began an intense workout
schedule and started craving it.
Then, about 5 years later, I fell in love and started craving poultry...
Hmmmm... ;-)... 5 years ago.
Anyhow, each of these I would have once a week or so, MAYBE, in small doses.
Now that I'm running around after a baby, I'm ready for a change. I felt
really weak after the birth (3 mo. +) until very recently, and so far,
sticking to this diet (as of 2 weeks or so) seems to help! I'm really
enjoying eating the meat. Never thought I'd say that. The logic of the
diet appeals to me, too. I've always appreciated foods in their natural
state.
But my question is, do I HAFTA eat the red meat? It said in Neanderthin
that I wouldn't get the proper fat otherwise. But I'm eating a LOT of nuts
(raw wal and brazil) and salmon, avocados, etc. Really don't care for pork
much, either.
I'm a thin person with a fast metabolism. So weight loss is not an
issue--just energy and strength. ;-) Also, I'm nursing, so anything I
should be aware of there?
Thanks!
Sandra
PS--please don't tell me to start eating ants now or something. LOL
