I just wanted to warn others about ordering Mi-Del ginger snap cookies from
Cecilia's Gluten-free Grocery Store. My seven-year-old (Celiac) son loved
the Mi-Del chocolate chip and animal cookies we had bought from Cecilia's
previously, so I ordered a bag of every variety of cookie they had. When
they arrived today, he immediately wanted to try a ginger snap. I was about
to hand him one, when I noticed the bag said "ORGANIC WHEAT"! I examined the
ingredients, and sure enough, the cookies are made with wheat flour.
It's tough enough trying to explain what gluten-free means to every waiter in
every restaurant, but to have a "gluten-free grocery store" send cookies made
with wheat flour . . . I'm ready to explode.
I just feel lucky I noticed the writing before he had eaten any.
