You need to check your BIOS, which is where all the startup features such as
poweron are controlled. You may want to check the mobo maker's web site for
an updated BIOS. If your BIOS settings are correct (check your mobo
manual), and it isn't working right, it has become corrupt, and you'll need
to flash update your BIOS.
I am having a problem starting my computer. I have a 900 T-bird on an Epox
EP-8KTA+ MB running W2k. This machine is about 6 months old. When I first
got it, all I had to do to start it was hit any key on the keyboard. Then
about 6 weeks ago that ability started to fade until finally, I always had
to hit the power button to start it. If I should shut down, then hit a key
while it is still warm, it will start, but if some time passes, I have to
hit the start button. Now, just hitting the button won't bring it up. Now to
get it started I have to hold down the start button as if to power it off,
and then press it again to start it????
Is this a hardware problem or a software problem???
Any input would be much appreciated. Thanks.
Paul
