Actually, lets change Deskstar to Seagate Barracuda, as the IBM drive died
on me today, a mere 3-4 days old.  Not very promising to say the least.

Hello all,

    I purchased an IBM Deskstar 75GXP yesterday, 30.7GB, and am considering
getting another one to setup an Ultra ATA100 RAID 0 array.  Not knowing a
great deal about RAID arrays and never having set one up before, I'm looking
for a little input form the list.  I know 0 is the one I want (I'm a speed
freak), but I wondering about things such as compatability betweend the
Desktars and a Promise ATA100 controller, and whether the array will be
hardware or software controlled.  Any hardware/software reccommendations
will also be appreciated.
