I haven't checked them out myself, but I think that many chain restaurants have web sites that often have ingredient lists. If you can stand McDonald's once in a while, my milk allergic son can eat their hamburgers and french fries without any problem. Although in some areas of the country they may prepare them a little differently. It would probably always be wise to ask at each restaurant.

Never assume that a certain type of food is always safe. Several have mentioned Chinese food as safe, and many times it probably is. But I know that in Missouri where I live most Chinese restaurants prepare some meat dishes which have a batter coating that has milk in it. Good luck.

I've been reading this list for some time and must say that it is wonderful
to hear others with the same issues...no disbeliefs, no judgments. My 3 yo
daughter is severely allergic to dairy (reacts with anaphylactic shock) and
was diagnosed as an infant. Thanks to everyone for all of your insights.

Question, though. Anyone know of any restaurants/meals that are safe? We've
pretty much boycotted everything until now. However, we are planning on
going on some trips and would like a little variety in meals along the way.
I've written and phoned many chains numerous times who usually don't respond.
If there are any suggestions, please share!

Thanks Again!

Elizabeth
