The Slob has done far more than hold on to power. The Slob has found a
rallying point - "Remember Kosovo!" Slob will stand or fall on his ability
to hold on to Kosovo, despite the damage sustained. If Kosovo is purged of
'ethnic Albanians' and repopulated with Serbs then, historically, the price
exacted from Serbia by the attacks of NATO will have been a price worth
paying. Loss of military hardware is irrelevant so long as Serbia is able to
maintain its sovereignty. Slob doesn't need heavy weapons to maintain
internal order, especially in the aftermath of these attacks. Is he
threatened by any of his neighbours? not really, and Russia can be expected
to support him should any regional animosity come to the fore (NATO sure
won't want anything to do with it). Slob's like Saddam, a canny hard-man,
and he's betting on being there for the long-haul.
