Several years ago the Guild's historical branch had a conference at the
Rosendale cement quarries in northeast New York State. There is a nice lake
there and an older tourist lodge. The old cement kilns are still standing
gaurd with trees growing up through them. One point of interest was the fact
that the old mines are now used for storing documents. Word has it several
major corporations and government branches use them. Kinda cool...but that's
the point.
