It's unblended whiskey (vs. the usual "blended" variety, which is the
corollary of Wonder Bread).  The difference between daylight and fluorescent;
real women and Playboy; real men and GQ; a breeze and central air
conditioning; plaster walls and sheetrock.  Probably better than backwoods
moonshine (which, I am convinced, is mostly atmosphere), but then I didn't
get to that Louisiana swamp with Pirate.

Ignore Laphroaig's recent "status" connotations, which are annoying but not
fatal.
