I have a friend that did the same thing...  The tray was making some
"new" mechanical noise when opening and closing...  It started to stick.
(It also had reading problems...)  When the drive tray "failed", I took it
apart and discovered the little plastic gear that works the tray had split
and was expanded and acting like a wedge, jamming the tray...
Your problem may be different...  Good luck...
