I've done exactly this, hiking around the neighborhood with my kids strapped
to me in carriers -both kids, that is. Each day I would go farther. My legs
and hips gained a lot of strength. Also, yoga is an excellent, gentle,
effective, and fun way for a kid (or anyone) to gain strength. If you want
