I might suggest sleeping with a pillow between your legs.  Even if you don't
sleep on your side it will prevent your ankles from crossing.  My PT says
crossing ankles is bad news for folks with back spasms.  She's right!

Lynn, yes, I have back problems like that. I can no longer stand up for any
period of time.  I have had an OT come to my house to make suggestions on
how
to fix my office chair, and then I had the guy at the wheelchair place make
foam to my needs, and it's much better.  If you can find a cheap way to get
into some hot water with a jet, that helps too.
