Heidi,

I presume you'll alert the Feds to the fact that I had a near fatal car
accident on the westbound Pulaski Skyway one night about 14 years ago. Some
rectum in the left lane drifted into my (right) lane [or maybe the rectum in
the right lane drifted into the left lane], causing the undersigned to carom
from one side to the other several times at about 70 mph, until I came to
rest, and drove on home to Dullsville. Scared the shit out of me, but I
made
it. The insurance co. subsequently decided the car had been totaled, and
Mrs.
Ralph and I wound up with the only new car we've ever owned as a result of a
favorable settlement. Had to get rid of it a few years later as a result of
our population explosion, when we realized we wouldn't be able to get the
chilluns home from the hospital in one trip...

Thought you'd want to know. I seem to think that a lot lately, don't I?
Maybe I'll be right sometime.

By the way, it might be a good idea if they do a little steel repair before
they put the bronze plaque on the Skyway--the rust damage may not support
any
additional weight. Seems to me there's already an ASCE plaque on it
(eastbound, Newark end maybe?)

Ralph

Do let us know when the plaque goes up. Although it might be a good idea to
have some steel repairs done first (to the rusted areas
