Hello all,
I'm new to this list and have read the FAQ, but I haven't found a
satisfactory answer to my question.
My Father has Celiac Sprue. After a difficult time recovering from a
surgery, the hospice he stayed at was completely incapable of providing a
gluten free diet. This is probably old hat to all of you.
My question.
What mechanism clears gluten from the body when gluten intake has stopped?
Would activated charcoal help pull it out of the digestive system or has a
whole chain of other events happened that are cleared some other way?
Simply. If you suddenly realised you just ate gluten, would there be any
steps to minimise the impact? Are there vitamins that support the immune
system, etc.?
Your thoughts and ideas are most welcome.
Thx,
RB Blackstone
