I bought a refurbished 17" monitor about 3 years ago, it's been trouble
free. I looked for a monitor with the features I wanted (size,
resolution, refresh rate, etc.) that was still available as new (current
model, price easy to compare, might even see it on display in a store)
with at least a one year warranty (preferably three years). Lastly, where
does it go for repair if it needs service? If I need to ship it cross
country, the shipping can eat up my savings pretty quickly. Sometimes,
you can get good prices on new equipment - Staples had some new 17" Pixie
monitors for about $100. after rebates over the net about 6 weeks ago.
