A sugar factoid from The Learning Kingdom today:
Humans are able to taste sugar in a dilution of 1 part sugar in 200 parts
water. Experiments show that butterflies can detect sugar even at a dilution
of 1 to 300,000, a solution that is 1,500 times weaker.
Given our ability to detect sugar at the ratio of 1:200, is it any wonder
that it is poison to us in the amounts it occurs in the SAD?
