I think your aphorism should become the new and permanent motto of B-P.  I
recall Jim Askins saying that nobody should be allowed to apply Portland
cement to a historic building without a license.  The corollary is that
therre is no such thing as a "bad" material, it's just a question of
compatibility and appropriateness.
