The listserv troubled by a bad conscience and a good memory.

Christopher-
The new Gehry building is to be adjacent to Trinity College which is not
exactly "in down town" although there is a lovely view of it from the campus
hilltop location. There was recent talk of having the building downtown
incorporating it into a new project called "Adrian's Landing" along the CT
River front (conf center, hotels, science museum etc - you get the picture)
but CHS is apparently committed to the other location where they will have
reciprical access to Trinity's students (all that free help!). It will be on
the edge of a residential area but very close to the Learning Center corridor
- not a far distance from the State Capitol/Library or downtown (shuttle bus)
cultural centers.
I think Trinity is donating a ton of money and certainly its connections if
CHS moves there, but Gehry apparently really likes the spot (sort of crawling
over a rocky ledge) and Trinity's wonderful buildings nearby. Some of the
residential neighbors are not too sure how they feel yet about it - at least
until they see what is architectually in mind.
